It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elida Flournoy of Austin, Texas, born in Beeville, Texas, who passed away on December 5, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lupe Sr. Velasquez and Rosauda Velasquez; and her siblings, Sobeida Wood and Benito Velasquez. She is survived by: her husband John Flournoy; her children, Michael Flournoy (Kim), Joseph Flournoy (Laurie), Leticia Smith (Chris) and Jonathan Flournoy (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Roxanne Fay Flournoy, Elijah Flournoy, Lila Smith and Grady Smith; and her brothers, Lupe Jr. and Tomas Velasquez.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Trevino Funeral Home (401 W Springer St, Beeville, TX 78102). A rosary was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint James Catholic Church (605 S Alta Vista Blvd, Beeville, TX 78102). A burial was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of Victory Cemetery (Old Houston Hwy, Beeville, TX 78102).
