He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Dempsey and Hertha Lippman Dempsey; and his siblings, Joan Singleton and Charles "Charlie" Dempsey. He is survived by: his wife Janice Schroeder Dempsey; his son Mike Dempsey (Phyllis Pryor Dempsey); his grandchildren, Jensen Dempsey, Rainey Dempsey and Larsen Dempsey; his daughter Dina Dempsey Dreifuerst; his grandchildren, Jay Dreifuerst and Grace Dreifuerst; his siblings-in-law, Velera Gaertner (Robert), Carolyn Orth and Rudy Schroeder (Janis); and his close friend David Buchanan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Central Texas Food Bank or The Salvation Army.
