He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrel Shirk and Constance Shirk; his brothers, Kevin and Kenny DeRuy; and his sister-in-law Jolene Kanary.
He is survived by: his wife Jenni; his children, Ellie, Jack, Kyle, Jillian and Maria; his brothers, Kurt (Shelly DeRuy) and Cory (Diana Shirk); his parents-in-law, Jim and Judy Kanary; his sisters-in-law, Julie (Tony Young) and Jackie (Rich Walkowski); and his nieces and nephews, Justin, DJ, Kellen, Jake, Kennedy, Remington, Alex, Ben, Maura and Brigid.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Texas A&m University.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840.
