He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Owens and Gladys Juanita Owens (Jones); and his brothers, Gary Owens, Gerald Owens and Harold "Fat Boy" Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Newton of Cross Roads, TX; his sons, Jason Owens of Aubrey, TX and Brian Owens of Aubrey, TX; his adoptive sons, Sage Harris of Sanger, TX and Cody Shikle (Shelly) of Lake Dallas, TX; his sister Marlyn Baker (Dale) of Denton, TX; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry and Tammy Newton of Tioga, TX. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
