It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Maxine Clayton (Atlanta, Texas), born in Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on December 24, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Lester Clayton; her father Johnny Hale; her stepmother Irene Hale; her mother Eula Bell Hale; her brother Charles Hale; her stepbrother Larry Green; her granddaughter Heather Marie Clayton; and her close friend Gurtie Bonner.
She is survived by: her sons, Lester Clayton, Jr. (Brenda) of Atlanta and Marc Clayton (Amanda) of Bloomburg, Texas; and her grandchildren, Jena Littlejohn (Shon), Brittney Johnston (Brian), Jesse Clayton (Meghann), Shannon Clayton and Jaqueline Carver. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
