He is survived by: his children, Joan Avant (John Martin) of Atlanta, Joey Talbert (LaCresia) of Hughes Springs and John Doland Avant of Mount Vernon, Alabama; his sister Peggy DuBois (Eddie) of Loxley, Alabama; his grandchildren, Brittany Webb, Jonathan Boone, Rod Allen Chavez, Alex Chavez, Kevin Tolbert and Easton Avant; and his great grandchildren, Madison Boone of Jonah Boone, J. D and Tolbert.
