He was predeceased by: his parents, Artie Yates and Tressie Tims Yates; and his brother James. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Warren Yates of Atlanta, Texas; his daughters, LeAnn Lee (Michael) of Linden and Amy Nieman (Ricky) of Lubbock, Texas; his grandchildren, Jace Lee (Devon) of College Station and Allyson Fuller (Cody) of Atlanta, Texas; his great grandchildren, Abby, Nora, Parker Kate and Grayson; his brothers, Ronald "Biggie" Yates (Donna) of Atlanta, Texas, Ronnie Yates (Suzzone) of Tyler, Texas and Charles Yates (Gail) of Atlanta, Texas; and his sister-in-law Nita Jones (Ronnie) of Linden, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
