He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Miles and Vista Bergie Whatley; and his daughter-in-law Pamela Brooks Whatley. He is survived by: his wife Nelva Adams Whatley of Atlanta, Texas; his children, Curtis Whatley (Amy) of Linden, Texas and Karen Whatley of Linden, Texas; his grandchildren, Ryan Whatley (Haley), Casey Pate (Corey), Whitney Cooner (Randy), Kelsey Best (John), John Tanner of Washington, Cass O'Rear (Lauren), Drew O'Rear and Victoria Hesse (Joe); and his great grandchildren, Judson Pate, Kinsler Pate, Ellis O'Rear, Moses O'Rear, Hayden Whatley, Sawyer J. Best and Brooks Cooner.
