He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jo Smith and James Carney, Sr.; his girlfriend Virginia "Ginny" Herring; his siblings, David Carney (Gay) of Atlanta, Texas and Christy Thomas (Dennis) of Doddridge, Arkansas; his girlfriend's children, Johnsye Doyle of Myrtle Beach and Michael Lee of Lauringburg; his nieces, Amanda Farmer (Josh), Jennifer Granado (Josh) and April Carney; his great-nephew Corban Farmer; and his great-nieces, Brynnlee Farmer, Peyton and Lorelei Granado.
