It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dixie Carey (Atlanta, Texas), born in Barwick, Georgia, who passed away on March 16, 2018, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Curtis Carey, Jr.; and her sibling Hugh Anthony Barrett. She is survived by: her siblings, Margaret Jeanette Barrett McCoy and Dixie; and her children, John A. Carey (Julie) of Albuquerque, Jenna Alcott (Forbes) of Houston, Nada Carey of Tallahassee, Hugh Carey (Barbara) of New Haven, Brett Carey of Ivoryton, Kellen Carey (Araceli) of Oaxaca and Roane Carey of New York. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
