He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Speed and Mae Anna Speed (Hoeinghaus); his sisters, Wanda Kirk and Jeanie Courtney; and his grandchild Kambrie Shumway.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Speed of Seven Points; his children, Sheila Ann Barr (Chris) of Kingwood, Billy Speed Jr. (Mindy) of St. George, Taresa Hinojosa and Micheal Jennings of Athens; his sister Barbara Jones (Mark); his grandchildren, Nicholas Barr-Shearin, Nathan Barr, Joseph Speed, Bryan Speed, Ashley Speed, Adrian Lissandrello, Autumn Lissandrello, Kaigen Speed, Andrea Hinojosa, Edward Hinojosa, Natalie Hinojosa and Anthony Hinojosa; and his great grandchildren, Emma Speed, Elaine Speed, Joseph Speed Jr., Maya Hinojosa and Mason Hinojosa.
