He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin L. Sims and Helen Geraldine Jones Sims; and his brother Danny R. Sims. He is survived by: his wife Janie Henry Sims; his children, Shelley Burley (Jeff) of Sherman, Cathryn Brock (David) of Boerne and Thomas Matthew Sims of Louisiana; his cousin Charlotte Wheeler (Jim) of Belton; and his siblings-in-law, Melba Edwards of Athens, Judy Pankov of Tyler, Edwin "Bud" Henry (Tere) of Dallas, Bob Henry of Athens and Haskell Henry (Terrie) of Garland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
