He was predeceased by: his parents, Derwood Musick and Lena Musick (McGee); his son Mel Musick; his sister Mary Lou Hardin; and his uncle Therle "Bubba" Musick.
He is survived by: his close friend Patsy Bice; his wife Patsy Musick of Athens; his sons, Gil Musick of Athens and David Musick of Athens; his grandchildren, Ryan Musick, Julena Hart, Jamie Rogers, Jana Strange and Melody Savell; his great grandchildren, Ryder, Braydon, Connor, Landon, Ty, Matty, Rylan, Fynlee, Cash and Sawyer; and his pets, Roper and Lucky.
