He was predeceased by: his father Robert Edward Blong; and his brothers, Aaron Caldwell and Michael Caldwell. He is survived by: his mother Yvette Suzanne Blong (This) of Arlington; his wife Holly Shumate Blong of Athens; his children, Jamie Shumate of Athens, Kadence Blong of Athens and Edward Blong of Athens; his siblings, Lori Hernandez (Israel) of Redding, Tim Blong, Chuck Jantzen of Katy, Nikki Silva (Eddie) of Arlington, Andrea Raitt (Mike) of Arlington and Berta Winn (Tres) of Athens; and his grandchildren, Leroy Odom, Mike Raitt, Eddie Silva, Tres Winn, James Graham and Bruiser Arnold. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to the Blong Children College Fund at First State Bank of Athens.
