She is survived by: her son Neal T. Velvin; her grandchildren, William C. Velvin and Brana Velvin Rope (Adam Rope); her great grandchildren, Curry Rope and Porter Rope; and her sister Betty Nash Hendrickson.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the East Texas Arboretum & Botanical Society.
