He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jesse Garrett and Nancy Ellen Thompson; his wife Emma Elaine Phillips; and his son Jarrell Christian Garrett. He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Whitaker (Terry), Sandy Willingham (Bobby) and Michael Garrett. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
