He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Hannigan and Marion Louise Clybourn Hannigan; his stepfather Dewey Little; and his sister Lynne Beale. He is survived by: his wife Gayle Schurtz of Athens; his children, Jill Schurtz of Minneapolis and Chris Schurtz of Canton, IL.; his stepsons, Jason Schwark of Branson, MO. and Ryan Schwark of Murchison; and his brother Richard Hannigan of Las Vegas, NV.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
