It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Larry Brede of Athens, Texas, born in Palestine, Texas, who passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Brede and Loys P. Brede; his sister Charlotte Kasper; his daughter Tonja Collinsworth; his stepson Russel Hardisty; and his granddaughter Mayson Brede.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Brede; his children, Lariann Hinton (Robert) and James R. Brede (Jackie); his stepchildren, Stacy Collins and Ginger Hardisty; his grandchildren, Heather, Ashley Fisher, Shelby Hardisty, Sparkie, Christian Collins, Blake, Drew Hinton and Skyler Brede; his great grandchildren, Logan, Jacobi, Quentin, Austin, Noah and Rowan; and his nephews, Larry and Gary Kasper.
