She was predeceased by: her parents, Hollis Underwood and Pearl Underwood (McNeal); her husband Arlie Whatley; and her siblings, Dorothy Dunn, Everene Walker and Buddy Underwood.
She is survived by: her children, Arlene Anderson (Joe) of Valley View, Sue Lynn Trent (John) of Athens, Randy Whatley (Lynne) of Athens, Terri Whatley of Flint and Natalie Higgins (Nash) of Magnolia; and her grandchildren, Rachael Pruitt (Stan), Michael Anderson (Lisa), Nathan Daniel (Dixie), Tara Alfred (Aaron), Amanda Whatley, Molly Taylor (Gavin), Arlie Whatley (Whitney), Chad Cooper, Kaylie Comer (Eric), Myriah Higgins and Madison Higgins. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in her memory to the Fellowship Baptist Church Saints in Ministry.
