With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elizabeth Cabral Celiz of Athens, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 28, 2024 at the age of 38. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Enrique Celiz, Maria of Jesus Robles and Rafaela Carrillo; her uncle Jose Luis Cabral; and her cousin Jessica Gomez.
She is survived by: her parents, Jose Juan Celiz and Maria (Rosario Cabral); her children, Javi Escalon of Athens and Yaretzi Escalon of Athens; her siblings, Alma Celiz of Athens, Victor Celiz (Allaison Flores) of Athens, Ilda Celiz Garcia (Andy) of Athens and Jose Celiz, Jr. of Athens; her nephews, Junior Escalon and Kamilo Celiz; and her niece Melanie Garcia.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home (842 NE Loop 7, Athens, TX 75752). A rosary was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel (842 NE Loop 7, Athens, TX 75752). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Edwards Catholic Church (1310 S Palestine St, Athens, TX 75751). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at the Athens Cemetery (324 Lakeside Dr, Athens, TX 75751).
