With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Eddie V. Darty of Athens, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 25, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mose Bowman and Leona Bowman (McAlister); her husband S. V. Darty; her siblings, Matthew Holmes, Eula Mae Brown, Annie Mae Davis, Samuel Bowman and Mozella Young; and her children, Baby Andrews and Thomas Lee Andrews.
She is survived by: her children, Elsie Lee Derrick Eddie (late Otha) of Darty's Temple and Roy; and her grandchildren, Francevia Andrews Sims, James, Brigette Michelle Correa, Juan, Marsha Ann Castillo, Trinity Elaine Crawford, Marshall Crawford III, Tonia, Aundra Smith, Tiffany Beachum, Dwight, Jeromi Andrews, Kim, Marquis Dora Black, Shunte Harrison, Korey, Randy Andrews, Keelana Hodges and Ajsia Andrews. She is also survived by great grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home (842 NE Loop 7, Athens, TX 75752). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel (842 NE Loop 7, Athens, TX 75752). A burial was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at the North Athens Cemetery (493 Edmonson Ave, Athens, TX 75751).
