He was predeceased by: his father Lanny Dykes; and his grandfather Billy Brookshire. He is survived by: his mother Brenda Dykes (Brookshire) of Tyler; his wife Jamie Dykes of Athens; his children, Mason Dykes of Chandler, Aspen Dykes of Nacogdoches and Tristan Dykes of Chandler; his grandmother Marie Brookshire of Tyler; and his brother James "Neil" Dykes of Log Cabin.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Henderson County Peace Officers Association Scholarship Fund.
