With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Amy Olene Thomas of Athens, Texas, who passed away on January 5, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence J. Ashton and Minnie Fayrene Ashton (Whisenant); her former husband Willie Kermitt Hayes; her husband Billie Wayne Thomas; her son Ken Hayes; and her brother Leon Ashton.
She is survived by: her close friend Harvey McAnally of Athens; her children, Bubba Hayes of Athens, Karl Hayes of Caney City and Pam Kuykendall (Virgil) of Mabank; her brother Steve Ballard (Geneva) of Phalba; and her grandchildren, Jenni, Kristi, Katie, Josh, Kimberly, Shelby, Garrett, John, Kasey, Justin, Kandace, Derek and Todd. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
