He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Head and Ada Head (Holmes); his son Kevin Head; and his siblings, J. R. Head, Dorothy Miller and Peggy Heirholzer.

He is survived by: his significant other Shiree Head; his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Bradley Potts; his grandchildren, Quinton Head (Vanessa) and Kelsey Thrasher (David); and his daughter-in-law Kay Head. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Living for the Brand Cowboy Church of Athens.
