She was predeceased by: her former husband Charles Robert Hillegass; her siblings, Mary, Ruth, Jack and Russel; her grandson Stephen Freeborg; and her parents, Russel Etter and Kathryn Etter.

She is survived by: her husband Jay; her children, Deborah Keiser (R. C.), Suzanne Freeborg (Frank) of Kingwood, TX, John Hillegass (Maura) of Wrightsville Beach, NC and Chuck Hillegass (Geri) of Acworth, GA; her grandchildren, Scott Keiser (Kathryn), Robert Keiser (Krista), Christopher Freeborg (Jenny), Katy Wright (Ryan), Holly (Sarah Hillegass) and Nevin Hillegass (Kathleen); her great grandchildren, Emma, Aria, Aubrey, Everly and Connor; her sister Grace Stutz; and her sister-in-law Mary Ann Greiner. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
