He is survived by: his wife Lola; his children, Tommy Simmel (Jeff Shockley) of Euless, TX, Kenny Simmel (Patty Christensen) of Arlington, TX and Marsha Harris (Doug) of Arlington, TX; his grandchildren, Brendon, Kevan, Ty, Brett, Shelby, Ashley and Megan; his great grandchildren, Sonnet, Chase, Juniper, Rowan and Lennox; and his siblings, Gerry Tischler of Round Rock, TX, Kathy Whitley (Jerry) of Pilot Point, TX and Matt Simmel (Patty) of Denton, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (5819 W Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington, TX 76016).
