She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill George and Stella George; and her siblings, Harold, Merle, Chester George, Marie Bradshaw of Denton and Alta Wilkins of Denton.

She is survived by: her husband Troyce Barton of Argyle; her daughter Dr. Karen Michelle Nielsen of Valley View; and her grandchildren, Nicole Renee West of Arlington and Chad Nielsen of Cedar Park. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the DeBerry Funeral Directors (2025 W University Dr, Denton, TX 76201). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
