He was predeceased by: his parents, John Earl Roberts and Emma June Hamrick Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Shirley of Archer City; his children, Charles Roberts of Decatur, Jonathan Tyler (Renee) of Pampa, Bill Tyler (Missy) of Keller, Jimmy Howells of Archer City, James Howells (Julianne) of Kansas City, Jason Howells (Chelsea) of Wichita Falls, Joshua Howells (Nikki) of Lockhart, Joe Roberts of Georgetown, Shane Roberts (Alyssa) of Bedford and Angela Zane (Dan) of Valrico, Florida; his sisters, Esther Usher and Betty Freleigh of Springfield, Illinois; and his mother-in-law Ruby Hopkins of Archer City. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 367, Archer City, Texas 76351.
