He was predeceased by: his father Merle Delbert Simmons; his former wife Joye Lewis; his sister Carol; his brother-in-law Arlon Bryson; his siblings, L. M. "Bub" Simmons and Judy Boline; and his stepdaughter Shari Ann Haigood.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Tom" Alexander; his children, Lewis Simmons of Wichita Falls, Rodney Simmons (Jan) of Olney and Becky Marchand (Todd) of Azle; his stepson Chris Haigood (John Weaver) of Allen; his siblings, David Simmons (Connie) of Blytheville, Arkansas and Susan Partridge (Chuck) of Williamsburg, Virginia; his siblings-in-law, Jan Simmons of Wichita, Kansas and Leonard Boline of Olathe, Kansas; his grandchildren, Brett Simmons (Vicky) of Thornton, Katie King (Casey) of Stephenville, Gabe Simmons (Calli) of Olney, Brad Simmons (Kristy) of Olney, Dane Simmons (Crystal) of Olney, Colin Marchand (Payton) of Hughes Springs and B. J. Marchand of Azle; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Grace, Carson, Candan, Annalise, Addie, Alayna, Hunter, Justin, Morgan, Kami, Natalie, Thomas, Makayla, Parker, Nelson and Penny. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and his best little companion.
