She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Smith and Thurman Capps; her sister Judy Hardy; her husband Michael Welborn; her brother-in-law Ken Hardy; her brother Larry Capps; and her nephew Chris Capps.
She is survived by: her pet Bailey; her daughter Elizabeth Welborn; her brother-in-law Ron (Darlene Welborn); and her nieces and nephews, Deanna Welborn Clark, Teresa Welborn, Rebecca Hardy Girgenti, Sherry Hardy Bogdan, Lorie Hardy Thornton, Tom Welborn, Jimmy Capps, Mike Hardy, Brian Hardy, Paul Hardy, Matthew Hardy and Mark Hardy.
Laura was unbelievably impressed and honored that her daughter has committed to serve as president of the recently created APISD Education Foundation to carry on her mother's name and passion to meet the needs of the students of APISD.
