He was predeceased by: his parents, Micaela Perez and Augustine Ortiz of Aransas Pass, Texas; his brothers, Jose Ortiz, Ramiro Ortiz, Miguel Ortiz and Ernesto Reyes; his daughter Celedonia "Sally" Ortiz; and his grandson Marcus Jesus Ortiz Trevino.
He is survived by: his children, Homer Ortiz Jr., Ernesto Ortiz, Micaela "Michelle" Ortiz, Alma Ortiz, Augustine Ortiz and Linda Ortiz; and his sisters, Odilia Lopez, Oralia Cruz and Maria "Mary" Collins. He is also survived by his twenty-one grandchildren; his eighteen great-grandchildren.
