He was predeceased by: his wife Janie Mae Ball McLaren; and his siblings, Gene McLaren, Larry McLaren, Mary Pearl McLaren Bingham, Dan McLaren and Raymond McLaren.

He is survived by: his daughters, Paula McLaren Aycock (James), Pam McLaren Garnett and Patty McLaren Murdock (Pat Estes Murdock); his grandchildren, Gentry Murdock Bill (Kenneth James Bill) and Austin Marshall Murdock; his great grandchildren, Juliette May Bill and Wyatt James Bill; his wife Pat; his niece Martha Todd; his great-nieces, Charlotte Vincent, Ruth Ann Sumner and Becky Anderson; and also, Larry McLaren, Jr., Bob McLaren (Jeannie) and Steve McLaren (Tammy).
