Robert Wayne Helton Obituary
Robert Wayne Helton, 70, of Angleton passed away on August 13, 2024. Robert was born on November 15, 1953, in Santa Rita, New Mexico to George and Joyce (Dennis) Helton.
Robert married Judy McKnight on February 14, 1980.
Robert was a true cowboy by heart. He worked as an electrician by day and trained horses and roped at night. He loved teaching the younger kids how to rope and ride. He would check up on all of them to see how they were doing in their events. Robert had several young men and women who he treated as one of his own children. Robert loved all his grand and great grandchildren all the same. He wanted to know how everyone was doing. He was looking forward to having his new leg so he could go fishing. He wanted to travel to Florida to visit his stepson and to Utah to visit his sister's husband and children. He was also ready to do some local Texas traveling to be able to visit everyone else.
Those that preceded him in death are his parents, Joyce Dennis Helton and George M. Helton, brother Vernon Helton, sister Joyce "Joy" Acosta; and his cousin Mickey Rouse.
Left to remember him is his wife Judy McKnight Helton, son Brandon Wayne Helton, stepdaughters: Christina McEntire and husband Jeffery, and Sheila Coggins; stepson Michael Coggins and wife Colleen, grandchildren: Matthew McEntire and wife Erin, Rachael Cochran and husband Kyle, Marina McDougal and husband Cody, Seth McEntire, Amber McEntire, Sonny Marks, Angela Marks, Samantha Coggins, Tyler Helton, Caleb Helton, Taylor Helton, Hailey Prawitz, and Peyton Helton; great grandchildren: Paisley, Declan, Landry, Kymber, Hayes, Weylon, Iris, and Evan; brother in law Skip Acosta; nieces: Chelsie Acosta, Jerimie Acosta Green and husband Gary; nephew Adam Acosta and wife Jess; great niece Lona; great nephews: Leo, Jackson, Monroe, and Porter; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
