He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolfo Rodriquez Mireles and Tomasa Zepeda Mireles; his wife Lidia Aguilar; and his siblings, Eusevio Mireles, Ygnacio Mireles, Frank Mireles and Leonor Mireles Trevino.
He is survived by: his children, Joe L. (Debbie Mireles), Tommie Ritcherson (Rick) of Andrews, Patty Tidwell of Andrews and John Mireles (Armida) of Andrews; and his grandchildren, Shannon (Jorge Armenta), Sheena (Todd Blasdel), Michael (Catherine Hardin), Rich (Taylor Ritcherson), Corporal James Thomas (Samantha Santana), Ashley Tidwell, Jessica (Rene Hignojos) and John Michael (Verenice Mireles). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
