He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruble Sr. Smith and Alma Smith; his wife Thelma Smith; and his siblings, Tommy Smith and Cora Ann Scott.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Heuermann (Keith) and Kim Beene (Scott); his sister Ernestine Walther; his brother-in-law Allen Jones; his grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler Heuermann and Brice Beene; and his great grandchild Leanna Richards. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
