She was predeceased by: her parents, Cornell Otto Kahla and Katie Beatrice Kahla; her husband Clinton David Gau; her son Charles Henry Gau; and her siblings, Danny Kahla, Fred Kahla, C. W. Kahla, Betty Strimple and Theresa Strimple.

She is survived by: her brother Franklin "Butch" Kahla (Patricia); her sister-in-law Mary Kahla; and her pet Penny. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
