It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ja'Vion Z'Iar West of Anahuac, Texas, born in Buffalo, New York, who passed away on August 12, 2023, at the age of 18, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandmother Juanita Laster; his great-great-grandparent Joseph Jemison; and his great-grandparent Rosalyn Watkins. He is survived by: his mother Rashaunda Watkins; his siblings, Jae'Shawn Jones, Jae'Meer Burrell and Nariah West; his great-grandparent Wilma Hughes; his grandmother Melvina Jemison; and his aunts, Unique Cooper, Charnika Givens and Courtney Stone. He is also survived by aunts and uncles other relatives and friends.
