He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carey and Helena Boone Gunter (Bryan); and his siblings, W. C. Gunter, Gene Howe Gunter, Ralph Gunter, Herbert Gunter, Lee Gunter, Lorene Gunter and Callie Combest.
He is survived by: his wife Fern Gunter of Amarillo; his children, Kent Gunter (Alice) of Denton and Jennie Lynn Hodges (Mark) of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Heather Hodges Bradshaw (Todd) of Amarillo, Harlan Hodges (Kelly) of Los Angeles, Jenabeth Gunter Morgan of Denton and Kenli Gunter of Orlando; and his great grandchildren, Emersyn, Brooks, Elle, Eric and Shepherd.
The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite ministry.
