He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Cherry and Ima Cherry; his sisters, Barbara Jones and Ramona Medling; his parents-in-law, Donald Kennedy and Martha Jean Kennedy-Campbell; his son-in-law Joe Priz; and his niece Patty Medling.
He is survived by: his wife Dona Kennedy; his daughters, Misty Priz of Amarillo and Marcy Weldon (Taos) of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Mallory Priz, Justine Priz, William Weldon and Harper Weldon; his great grandchildren, Ryker and Raiden; and his brother Mike Cherry (Denise). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Fellowship Church (5000 Hollywood Rd, Amarillo, TX 79118). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Memory Gardens Cemetery (14200 I-27, Amarillo, TX 79119).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to BSA Hospice of the Southwest in remembrance of Bill.
