He was predeceased by: his parents, John Boilvin "Bud" and Mildred Maureen Hickman; and his brother Mike. He is survived by: his wife Nancy of Canyon; his children, J. Brad Hickman (Heidi) of Amarillo, J. Grant Hickman (Jenna) of Tualatin, Oregon, Tara Murray (Mark) of Amarillo and Crista Copheranham (Jarrett) of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Jack, Sophie, Jarah, Baron, Penny, Esther, Wren, Ella, Brackett, Lina, Grace, Calvin, Ford, Kai, Maxwell, Griffin, Rhett and Nora; and his siblings, Don Hickman of Bettendorf, Iowa and Sara Jo Kunkel of Amarillo.
