It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Miguel Elizondo Gavina of Amarillo, Texas, born in Weslaco, Texas, who passed away on September 26, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marin Gavina and Ester Gavina; and his sister Esmeralda Sanchez. He is survived by: his wife Maria Gavina of Amarillo, TX; his children, Cynthia Ramos (Ramiro) of Hobbs, NM, Martha Maes, Quintin of Amarillo, TX, Michael Gavina of Hereford, TX, Norma Stephens (Andrew) of Amarillo, TX, Oscar Gavina (Sylvia) of Hereford, TX, Liza Balderaz of Amarillo, TX and Leslie Diaz (Moses) of Amarillo, TX; and his siblings, Esperanza Lara, Tina Cabarrubia, Elida Prouty, Marvin Gavina, Manuel Gavina, Mickie Gavina, Martin Gavina, Mario Gavina and Mary Garcia. He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
