He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Leslie DeFever and Della Alene DeFever; his wife Dyalthia DeFever; his son Dirkland DeFever; his brothers, Dewayne DeFever and Rodney DeFever; and his great grandchild Marvin Shannon.
He is survived by: his son Gregory Shane DeFever; his grandchildren, McKenzie Lee DeFever, Carson Shane DeFever, Cody Jo and McKenna DeFever; and his great grandchildren, McKenlie Faith Shannon and Jaci Star Bridges.
