He was predeceased by: his parents, Alven Schurke and Emily Schurke; his brother Byron Schurke; his nephew Karry Schurke; and his brother Allen Schurke.
He is survived by: his wife Joan King; his daughters, Jennifer Noonan of Amarillo, Christine Keys (Earl) of Amarillo and Stephanie Barron (Chris) of Tomball, Texas; his siblings, Karen Schurke (Bill Renz) of Deloit, Iowa, Kenneth Schurke (Cathy) of Kiron, Rick Schurke (Kay) of Denison, Jerry Schurke (Sherri) of Denison and Mark Schurke (Diane) of Vail, Iowa; and his sister-in-law Karen Schurke. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
