He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jesse and May Morehead Muse; and his brother E. J. Muse (Betty Muse). He is survived by: his wife Betty Caswell; his children, Misty (Sieto Mellema) of Dalhart and Todd Muse of Amarillo; and his grandsons, Tammo Mellema, Matt Mellema (Kali), Mitchell Mellema (Alyssa Nials) and Max Muse.
