He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly Godwin; his parents, Fleda Godwin and Willard Godwin; and his siblings, Quintis Godwin, Bill Godwin, Vircie Dysart and Thressa Patterson.
He is survived by: his friend Juanita Allred; his daughters, Michelle McNeely (Lane) and Kristi Godwin; his siblings, Reacie Simpson and Jay Godwin (Tria); his grandchildren, Chad McLaughlin, Courtney McLaughlin and Cayla Qualls (Shane); his great grandchildren, Mackynzie, Cade, Keyton and Case; and his grandchild Kailin Drew Qualls. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
