She was predeceased by: her husband William Boyd Akins; her parents, Boy Amos Green and Cleo Inez Bryant (Sutton); and her siblings, Juanita T. Hamilton, Cora M. McElhaney, Mary Ada Lusk, Bonnie Hackler, Judith Carol Green (Justice) and Robert "Bob" Green.
She is survived by: her son Mike Akins (Jennifer) of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Emily Akins, Andrew Akins, Erin Akins and Kate Stratton; and her great grandchildren, Zander Downs and Emma Stratton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel (4180 Canyon Dr, Amarillo, TX 79109). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Shady Grove Cemetery.
