He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Arthur Vernon and Dorothy Jean Crowley. He is survived by: his wife Lillie Donita Touchstone; his children, Scott Vernon (Kelly) of Perryton, Kevin Vernon of San Antonio, Derek Vernon (Leandra) of San Angelo and Katrina Owens (Dustin) of Amarillo, Texas.; and his brother Larry Vernon (Marilyn) of Cleburne, Texas.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lagrone Blackburn Funeral Home (Coulter Chapel) (8310 Coulter St S, Amarillo, TX 79119). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Memory Gardens Cemetery of Amarillo (14200 I-27, Amarillo, TX 79119).
