He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Pinkney Murphy and Mary Jane Murphy; his brothers, Ronnie and Jimmy; and his daughter Melissa.

He is survived by: his brother Eddie (Debbie) of Amarillo; and his sister-in-law Jo Nell Murphy of Winslow, AR. He is also survived by several nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.
