He was predeceased by: his father William Dale Mercer (Bill); and his grandparents, Rosamae, Thomas Dedek, James and Patricia Mercer.
He is survived by: his mother Karen Dedek Mercer; his son Steven Dale Mercer II of Longview; his wife Jena Lea Mercer; his son Pierce of Longview; his stepfather Carl Hoffman of Alvin; his siblings, Brad Mercer of Dickinson and Allison Hoffman of Webster; and his friend Steven. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church (611 W South St, Alvin, TX 77511). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
