He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Cates and Laura Cates. He is survived by: his wife Diana Cates; his children, Stacy Huffman (Jared) and Ross Cates (Risa); his brother Ronald Cates (Annette); his grandchildren, Caleb Huffman, Catelyn Huffman, Cameron Cates and Kellan Cates; and his brother-in-law Mike Smith (Deanna).
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Scott Funeral Home (1421 Hwy 6, Alvin, TX 77511).
